Staff Welfare Committee: September 2015

Hey everyone,

Hopefully the fall semester is running smoothly for everyone. The Staff Welfare Committee met last week, and here are the highlights:

  • Upcoming workshops and sessions from the People Center. The People Center is doing a ton of work for staff welfare this semester, particularly in regards to upcoming DareU sessions, workshops and other trainings. In preparation for the open enrollment coming up later in the semester, we are having representatives from the People Center attend our next Staff Council meeting to help us get prepared. Additionally, the ModernThink survey is returning next March and we discussed ways we could help drive positive engagement among our staff.
  • High Five Awards – Gimmie five! We hope you’re acknowledging the efforts of your colleagues by sending them a High Five award. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill one out and send to a deserving co-worker. Stay tuned for a tiny survey assessing the results of the High Five awards.
  •  Changes to Staff Awards  – we are working on assembling a sub-committee to re-assess the end-of-year staff awards (such as the Durick award) — specifically with regards to timing, staff participation, and the differentiation of the awards.

That’s about it for now. Hope to see you at next month’s staff council meeting on October 13. Have a great day!
