Hello Champlainers!
The Staff Council Executive Committee always takes January off from meeting but we were back at it on February 5th and had a full agenda with lots of items for discussion. As we are now using the blog to give high-level overviews of committee meetings, I will give you a summary of the discussion with top-points discussed.
We spent the majority of the time planning the agenda for our next Staff Council meeting on February 20th, while also discussing some “hot topics” including the Presidential Search. We then moved into committee updates. Jared and I asked each committee to come prepared to discuss their top priorities/initiatives/events for spring 2020 and how they relate back to our Areas of Focus for the year. Each committee is working on a number of exciting items, and you will hear more from them in their own blog updates as well as some items at the next Staff Council meeting.
For the last 45 minutes, we were once again joined by Jennifer Archambault where we received an update on Oracle HCM; 2 items Staff Welfare is working on in conjunction with The People Center (staff compensation analysis and family friendly benefits); and discussed some other items of focus for the upcoming months (professional development day, etc.).
