Staff Council and the People Center have partnered to establish a new peer-to-peer award, titled the You Bowl Me Over Award. Our goal is to establish a culture of giving thanks and recognizing colleagues who go above and beyond in their service to the college community.
This award is designed to be gifted on a monthly basis and each winner will have the great power and responsibility to choose the next recipient. (Under the guidance of the C&E Committee)
Recipients can be staff or faculty members – and even entire teams or departments can be recognized with this award.
We believe these winners go above and beyond their job description. Their qualities and contribution align with the values in the Champlain 2025 Strategic Framework, as so many of us incorporate innovative, inclusive, practical, and interconnectedness practices into our work.
Before we announce the first winner we will share what each recipient will get:
-A decorated regulation-size bowling pin to proudly display for the month [one of us proudly holds it up]
-Award Certificate [hold this up too]
-$50 visa gift card
We’re so happy to announce that the first winner of the You Bowl Me Over Award is Christina Brooker.
Many of you have likely worked with Christina. We had to ensure they would be there for the award presentation as she not only helped plan Staff Development Day, but most of the events that you have attended OR planned at the College. She is often seen on campus outside of her typical work hours, late into the evening, or even stopping by on a weekend to check-in on how a specific event might be running. Christina’s love for her job, sense of humor, and ability to just make things happen is incredibly valued.
