What are you growing this summer?
Veggies, perennials, annuals…the usual. Annuals that don’t believe they are annuals!

What has been your favorite addition to your garden this year?
My new “bank of misfit perennials”…similar to the island of misfit toys in the holiday classic Rudolph. Dahlia bulbs my mom gave me that she has cultivated for over 15 years (the same bulbs). I thought they were dead but she told me to “take them home and put them in soil”. I am having so much fun with these pink beauties and the sentimental value is priceless.

Always trust the weather meterologist when it comes to initial spring planting. This year was funny late May and early June weather.

To be honest, I mostly garden the same way I cook – try stuff, see if it works out.

Don’t buy more plants than you have room for 🙂 For perennials and shrubs, make sure you give enough space for the mature size of the plant, even though the garden bed may look kind of empty. You can alwyas fill in with annuals until the perennials/shrubs reach their mature size.
